You among other subscribers probably prefer detailed patterns to use for glass etching. And honestly, they look more artistic and you can create many interesting projects by utilizing techniques like multi-stage sandcarving or shadeblasting.
However, using advanced glass etching patterns can take a considerable amount of time to both cut out and etch. Sometimes a basic pattern works fairly well too, if the design is good. I found a company providing awesome basic designs and did a test etch on a sheet of scrap glass to see what it would look like. It is of a scenic dipiction of frogs on a lilypad in a pond.
It is kinda neat, while being quick and easy.

Do you etch basic designs like this? I was also wondering if anyone creates their own custom patterns to use for their glass etching projects. Please let me know by leaving me a comment on the blog post.
