are you using a sandblaster pressure release valve?

I am sure you know this or already have one, hopefully.

You need to make sure your sandblaster has one of these safety pressure release valves or it could be very dangerous.

In the latest post, I show a picture of this valve, along with why you need it and where to get one inexpensively.
