Issues with the 35 LB Wax Melter & Fixes Notice: 2020 Model

Notice: with the release of our new 35 LB wax melter in 2020, we have become aware of some small issues based on feedback. However, there are some quick fixes for these issues, as discussed below.

I apologize for some of these issues and we are working hard to improve this in the future 2021 model.

Issue 1: Container Leaking Wax

Small leaks have been occurring when the wax is filled up to the handles. Some folks believe it is leaking out of the bottom seams. However, we discovered this is not the case. It is basically leaking at the top handles, dripping down and accumulating at the bottom since it is not hot below those seams.

• • Solutions:
    • Fill Below the Handles: At this moment, we suggest filling the container up below the handles. Alternatively, you could do a production run right after it melts until it is drained below the handles so you do not lose much wax dripping.
    • Add Sealant Around Handle Rivets: If you’d like to fill it up higher, you can also add a small amount of sealant to the inner part of handle rivets. Just be sure the surface and crevices around the rivets are clean: wipe any wax residue thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, smear sealant around rivets, wait until dry.

Issue 2: Dial Knob without Temperature Indicator

We discovered there is no indicator mark that was supposed to be added by our production team.

• • Solution:
    • Mark Horizontal Line to Left Side of the Thermostat: As shown below, please turn the dial all the way to the left, then use a black or white marker to draw a horizontal line next to the 95 degree marking.

Issue 3: No Indicator of Max Temperature

This melter goes up to at least a 230 degree temperature. Unfortunately, the thermostat dial shows 0 in its please because we used an imperfect dial.

• • Solution:
    • Write 230 at the zero mark with a marker.

Issue 4: Heat Cutting Off

This is actually how it is suppose to work and is part of the safety feature, as discussed in the user manual. The heat element and heat light will turn completely off for a couple minutes once the heating element reaches temperature. It is designed to both prevent wax from burning too much and prevent the heat element from breaking, which happens if the unit is plugged in when no wax is in the container.

• • • • Solutions:
        • Stir wax while heating. This distributed the heated pad for quicker melting.
        • Bypassing this device: if you would like to disable this feature, you can do so to heat the wax up quicker. However, the melter needs to be unplugged for servicing and a wire jumped with an inexpensive connector. Please contact us if you are interested in doing this.
